LTE-M's Cat-M1, which is built on the 4G cellular network, is the perfect connectivity solution for IoT deployments that require higher bandwidth connectivity with units that need to last several years on a single battery. Cat-M1 was designed specifically for machine-to-machine connectivity using LTE technology.
Cat-M1, while still being extremely low powered thanks to its Power Saving Mode (PSM) and discontinuous reception (DRX), can deliver speeds of 1 Mbit up and down, out-preforming its NB-IoT counterpart. Cat-M1 supports handover, making it the ideal connectivity solution for IoT deployments that are on the move. LTE-M has a longer communication range than 4G and 5G, allowing you to get connectivity in more remote locations where other connection types may not have coverage.
LTE-M's Cat-M1 has specifications standardised by 3GPP's release 13 and is an LPWA solution running on licensed spectrum, guaranteeing you quality of service and future proofing. iONLINE's LTE-M connectivity incorporates the same security as iONLINE's Connected Networks solution, giving your LTE-M connections an additional layer of security on top of the 3GPP standards. iONLINE's converged network solution gives you your own private network on top of existing NB-IoT, Cat-M1, LTE and 5G carriers, as well as the ability to fully manage and control the connections from a single platform.
